Veteran Application Information – Honor Flight Boise

Honor Flight Boise proudly serves Southwest Idaho. Veterans who live in the following counties are eligible to apply for an upcoming flight with Honor Flight BoiseAda County, Boise County, Canyon County, Gem County,  Elmore County  Owyhee County, Payette County & Twin Falls County

If you are a Veteran who served anytime between 1941–1975, or a Veteran from any era who is currently facing a terminal illness, we invite you to apply for an Honor Flight with Honor Flight Boise.

*Please note: There is no requirement to have served in combat to qualify.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and community sponsors, there is no cost for Veterans to participate in an Honor Flight. Every trip is fully funded so that our heroes can visit the memorials built in their honor in Washington, D.C.

Priority scheduling is given to:

* World War II Veterans
* Korean War Veterans
* Veterans from any era with a terminal illness (If applicable, please be sure to indicate this on your application.)

Due to the high number of Vietnam Veteran applications nationwide, wait times may be extended. While we are working hard to serve every Veteran, it may take a considerable amount of time — potentially several years — before you are scheduled for a flight.

Honor Flight Boise anticipates taking approximately 30 – 60 Veterans per year across two missions, pending funding and operational capacity.

Application Tips

Before submitting your application, please review the following:

* Double-check your mailing address for accuracy
* Watch for missing numbers, incorrect street designations such as Street vs. Avenue, etc.
* Do not place notes or extra information within the address fields
* All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required
→ Applications missing required fields will not be received

Once you click “Submit,” you will receive a confirmation email verifying that your application was successfully received. If you do not receive a confirmation email, or if you have questions about your application status, please contact Honor Flight Boise directly for assistance.

Once we receive your application, we’ll add you to our waitlist. When it’s your turn to fly, we’ll contact you directly with trip details. Wait times vary, but most veterans can expect to wait about 12–18 months. Veterans with a terminal illness receive top priority and move to the front of the list.

We also maintain a waitlist for guardians. If a family member or friend plans to serve as your guardian, they should apply around the same time you do. We’ll do our best to pair you together, but due to demand, we can’t guarantee it. Please note that spouses and significant others cannot serve as guardians

ALL passengers must have a REAL ID or valid passport to board the flight and to enter Arlington National Cemetery (a VHIC may be used here).

Please Note: We do not do “surprise” trips, the Veteran must be involved in the application process.
